His obituary: Morris Rowe Frey, 84, of Marietta, Georgia passed away March 26, 2021 at WellStar Tranquility at Kennesaw after battling cancer for several years. He spent his final days surrounded by his family. The funeral service was held at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Rabbi Kevin Solomon of Beth Hallel Synagogue officiate. Burial followed the funeral at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Morris was born in Marietta and is a decedent of one of the four founding families of Cobb County: the Wards, Mayes, Bullards and Freys. He graduated from Sprayberry High School. Morris married to Charlotte Frey (Turner) July 27, 1957. They were married for 63 years. Morris worked as a contractor with his brother Julian and owned Frey Builders for many years. He worked as a railroad crew dispatcher. He was also a real estate agent for Choice Properties and owned a cleaning service for outpatient surgical centers. In retirement, he drove a school bus for Cobb County Schools. From 1959 -1961, Morris served in the Army as a Military Policeman in Leavenworth, Kansas. He enjoyed sports as a young man and was once in the Marietta newspaper for hitting the longest home run ever at Kenworth Park in a softball game. He loved to play golf and spent many afternoons with his brother Julian on the golf course. He kept a ΒΌ acre vegetable and flower garden every year since 1970. His homemade salsa beat any salsa you could get in a restaurant. He coached his sons in baseball and football. Later in life, he enjoyed cooking and loved serving on the Kitchen Committee at Beth Hallel. He also enjoyed working on home remodel projects and helped his sons with multiple home renovations. He served on several mission trips to build churches in Jamaica. Morris is survived by his wife Charlotte, his sons Matthew (Andi), Michael (Tim), Patrick (Shanda), and his granddaughters who adored him, Madeline, Emma and Claire. He is also survived by his sister Betty Astin and brother Julian Frey. He is predeceased by his twin infants Kevin and Karen Frey, his sister Martha Jane Dees and brother Clifford Audrey (C. A.)
