Don Bryant. Don died on February 24, 2008.

His obituary: Don Reid Bryant, 73, of Oakwood died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008. A native of Cedartown, Polk County, Mr. Bryant had lived in Oakwood for the past 12 years. He retired after 34 years of service with the Georgia Department of Labor, where he served as commissioner (retiring as deputy commissioner) and served in the Georgia National Guard. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and a true UGA Bulldog. His hobbies included gardening, fishing and fishing. He gardened year-round and shared his harvest with family and friends. He fished lake, stream and sea from Florida to Alaska. He was committed to the Woodmen of the World organization, especially the summer kids camp program located in Gainesville. He was devoted to the children in his life. They brought him much joy, and he had fun sharing with them his love of life, boating and the beauty and wildlife of Lake Lanier. His life will be forever immortalized in memories of his surviving family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mason & Ward Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Arlington Memorial Park in Atlanta. The Rev. Steve Strett will officiate.
